During this time of uncertainty, and the daily changes related to COVID-19, the world has been placed on pause.  Weddings are once in a lifetime celebrations that have been affected by the chaos of the unknown.  With some things being canceled, we are optimistic for Couples and know that L O V E is not canceled it is just rescheduled.  Whether you reschedule to celebrate with your entire guest list or scale down to an intimate occasion, weddings will continue.

The mention of intimate weddings, has me remembering of a warm summer day in the Nation’s Capital of Jeromy and Eileen’s intimate rooftop wedding.

Jeromy & Eileen’s souls connected when these two brave soldiers met while serving our country in Iraq.  Eileen (Navy) and Jeromy (Army) would encounter each other on several occasions during their duties abroad.  Years would pass and they would take different paths until they would meet again to ignite the spark between the two of them.  Jeromy knew that Eileen was the one for him!  Arriving full circle, the two of them merged their families together to unite as “one”.

The wedding was a small intimate affair with fifty-(50) of their closest family and friends on a beautiful rooftop garden overlooking the historic monuments in Washington, DC.  The wedding party consisted of Eileen’s daughters as bridesmaids, along with Jeromy’s daughter, Eileen’s sister, and her two best friends.  Jeromy’s son was his best man along with his closest friends.  Our gorgeous Bride graced the aisle to the music of “Canon in D” wearing a cool platinum gown with a rustic bow with her head crowned with vibrant shades of pink garden roses.  Our dapper groom wore a classic gray long tail tuxedo with gray pinstriped pants – he was so handsome.  Jeromy & Eileen were surrounded by family and friends, and most importantly their kids who were the focal point of their shared love for each other.

After the garden ceremony, guests enjoyed a beautiful cocktail reception on the rooftop patio and later assembled inside for a dinner reception catered by our friends at Main Event Caterers.  From the heart-touching speeches by Jeromy and Eileen’s kids, to the carefully synchronized first dance by the couple, it was a magical evening of elegance and simplicity!  The evening was filled with love and ended with a romantic kiss under the stars which was beautifully captured by our friends at Procopio Photography.

ADVANTAGES OF AN INTIMATE WEDDING:

  • The Couple can spend more quality time with their invited guests which makes for a memorable experience.
  • Flexibility in your wedding budget to offer a grandeur experience on a smaller scale (an exorbitant menu, curated cocktails, etc.), the ability to spend more on a lavish honeymoon, or the opportunity save overall.
  • Intimate weddings allow for less distractions and chaos for Couples, and they can enjoy the moment of being engaged, the planning process, and their wedding day.
  • A smaller guest list provides you with an abundance of location options to have your wedding. Not only do you have hotels and private venue spaces, now you have the possibility of hosting a private reception at your restaurant or at home.
