Two years ago we had the opportunity to create the wedding of a lifetime for one of our couples, Robert & Lisa McCauley.  We are highlighting them today because this marks their TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY and we want to showcase the beauty of their love.

I remember the day that Lisa and I met in Washington, DC at The Sofitel Hotel to do our first initial consultation.  She expressed her desires and then looked at me and said with conviction…”I need your help”!  And our journey began to plan this luxurious wedding, and Lisa trusted me every step of the way.  Over the next 9 months our client relationship evolved into a true friendship.  To add humor, approximately two weeks prior to their wedding day, Robert’s Mom and I were involved heavily planning the rehearsal dinner, and she stated that she had one of her relatives attending from North Carolina.  When she pronounced his name, I chuckled to say that I knew someone by that name also from North Carolina.  Mrs. McCauley (Robert’s Mom) quickly replied that you probably do not know them because the relatives were from a small town in North Carolina.  When she identified the name of the couple and the name of the town, sounds of excitement were echoed through the phone because I did know the couple; they were from my hometown and I had been knowing them for over the 43 years of my life!  It was a small world…and this wedding truly became a labor of love for family for me.

The theme was to create an ice blue mirage with the usage of feathers to create a New Orleans classic style wedding with a modern look. The table centerpieces included white hydrangeas, white roses, white ostrich feathers, and crystal branches on top of antique silver candelabras.  The white ostrich feathers signified the feathers in the costumes that are used during Mardi Gras but with a lavish look and feel.  The blue hue from the up-lighting in the room gave the room the ice blue color to represent the bodies of water that surround New Orleans; New Orleans is the origin of the Bride’s family.  The DJ also played New Orleans music, Cajun & Zydeco, mixed with R&B, so that her family members would be able to experience New Orleans base sounds. Lisa looked like a masterpiece of beauty and Robert was the dapper debonair.  Their guests danced the night away and had the best of the best in cuisine created by our friends at Tasteful Affairs.

Happy Two Year Anniverary, Robert & Lisa!

“Most married couples hear each other’s words, you listen to each other’s heartbeats. Most of them  admire each other’s looks, you compliment each other’s soul. Most of them commit to each other’s lives, you have committed to each other’s dreams. Happy Anniversary to an Amazing Couple.”
