Dear Family & Friends

I can’t believe that 2012 has made such a brief appearance in my life this year.  I don’t know about you but the time went by very quickly.  As I close out this year, I wanted to say Thanks and let you know how myself and Perfect Planning have been blessed in so many ways.

As we embraced 2012, we made tremendous stride within the wedding and event planning industry and began the year on the right foot with recognition of our achievements and professionalism.  Perfect Planning was acknowledged for the third consecutive year as2012 brides choice awardwinner of the Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire; an award that recognizes the top five percent of wedding professionals who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism within the wedding industry.  Next, I began my wedding industry service as President of The Association of Wedding Professionals of Greater Washington, DC.  Serving in this leadership role has been both challenging and rewarding, has provided me with a solid foundation and accelerated my career, and has surrounded me within a league of phenomenal wedding and event professionals.  Lastly, I was a guest speaker on the Kojo Nnamdi Show (national public radio show – WAMU 88.5FM) speaking on the topic of wedding planning; it was a very nervous and exhilarating day for me.

In addition to the advancement of Perfect Planning, we increased our business by 60% and promoted team members – we were definitely busy this year!!!  Outstanding kudos to our previous and current clients for their referrals, to other wedding professionals for their referrals, and again to our clients whom provided their voice and opinions regarding our services on WeddingWire; a place where potential clients had the opportunity to hear about us before meeting us.  With the increase in business, we had the opportunity to promote members of our team whom stepped up to the plate and can now lead production setup for our events.  Congrats to Courtney Shorter and Kendra Johnson – you have been an invaluable asset to the team!  And many thanks to the entire Perfect Planning team – my success has not been accomplished without your help on each and every event- you are fearless and I love your tenacity to get the job done!

Now it’s time to prepare for 2013 – a year that we plan to take on with great pride and diligence to prosper abundantly.  Changes we have made to prepare for the upcoming year are set in place to award Perfect Planning with pure excellence.  First, we have redesigned the website for a new and fresher look and we hope that you agree.  We have created a blog so that we can voice our opinions about what’s going on and talk more candidly to our audience base; we hope that you will follow us and provide your comments. Next, we have created a new edition under our business umbrella – a video web show that focuses on highlighting wedding professionals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area that represent the best in the business, and to provideinsight into their world.  “You’re Cordially Invited” launches on social media outlets on January 21st.  We have already taped 3 shows, and yes, I am your host of the show.  Season 1, Episode 1 highlights the DoubleTree by Hilton Crystal City; we look forward to you watching us!  Fourth, we received word early this December that we were awarded for the first time byThe Knot, 2013 Best of Weddings; formal announcement from The Knot will be released in mid January.  And, we are in the running for the fourth year, for the Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire which also be announced in January.  Lastly, we have our first print media publication in the luxurious Engaged Magazine for their 2013 Spring and Winter editions.

Now to you, my family and friends – “Thanks” for all of your support throughout the many years.  It has been through your encouragement that has allowed Perfect Planning to prosper at such an accelerated rate.  During the upcoming year, I wish you and your families continued blessings, love, and prosperity.  From the words of Edith Lovejoy Pierce – “We will open the book.  Its pages are blank.  We are going to put words on them ourselves.  The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”

Happy New Year!!!!
